Abstract
Plasma cell neoplasms (PN) are a group of diseases, the main representatives of which are multiple myeloma (MM) and its asymptomatic predecessor, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS). PN are accompanied by various genetic abnormalities that arise at different stages of the disease. The most common of these include alterations in the cell cycle genes of the MAPK signaling pathway and DNA/RNA repair. This study presents the prevalence of KRAS, NRAS, and BRAF gene mutations and ATM and DIS3 gene polymorphisms in patients with newly diagnosed MM and MGUS.
