Из всех клинических проявлений диабетического поражения глаз наибольшую опасность представляет ретинопатия, являясь основной причиной прогрессирующего и безвозвратного снижения зрения вплоть до слепоты. Определение факторов риска и критериев прогнозирования диабетической ретинопатии, необходимых для разработки подходов к ранней профилактике её возникновения и прогрессирования, является одной из важнейших задач офтальмодиабетологии. Основными факторами, влияющими на прогрессирование диабетической ретинопатии при переводе на инсулинотерапию, являются: исходное состояние сетчатки, индекс массы тела, уровень гликированного гемоглобина, длительность сахарного диабета, артериальная гипертензия.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause permanently reduced vision and blindness.
